Description

a request from ~professorsawyer to draw a version of his sonic fan character skye

not really sure why he wanted me to draw this, but i went ahead anyways. this was a bit more difficult than i had expected. i had a bit of difficulty figuring out what the character exactly was. there was no perceivable nose, so that translated into the bovine-like one on my rendition. the limbs were also extremely disproportionate to the torso, making it looks as if there was some sort of muscular dystrophy or malnutrition going on for his limbs, so I had to even out the proportions, and i made sure to keep in mind the rather fat torso he possesses, resulting in a rather chubby fella that looks pretty different from the original sketch. the long tufts of hair on the head were also rather difficult to properly illustrate, and the one protruding from in front of the hind hear was also a bit hard to pinpoint. this also made it difficult to fix the positioning of the ears, since i had to made sure to include those in relation to the ears.
in the end, the perspective features in my drawing look pretty lousy to me, and the character looks quite different from the original image provided, but it is entirely based the design provided to me by Sawyer, and nothing else. i'm just a hobby artist myself, but i'm starting to consider maybe taking some classes to get my perspective construction and cognition skills improved so i can better work on drawing things based on others' designs in general and making those things look proper from any required angle. i'll ask some friends for help on construction soon.

i hope you are satisfied with the image, even if it did turn out a bit lousy and varied from your original design. i might try again in the future, if you want, but after i get back on top of my game.
